Spicer simply sensational in Montreal
by Randy Pascal
Logan Spicer is soaring to new heights.
The talented Lo-Ellen Park Secondary and Track North Athletic Club star continues to make waves at a national level, recently capturing
gold in the high jump at at Hershey Canadian Indoor Track and Field Championships in Montreal.
The Lively native cleared the bar at 1.95 metres to finish first in the U-18 division, his personal best leap so impressive that it would have also
garnered him a bronze medal if he competed in the U-20 division.
In addition to establishing a new meet record (in his age group) in his primary event, Spicer also placed fifth in the 60m dash, clocking a personal
best time of 7.24 seconds in the heats and just missing matching that in the final, crossing the line in 7.27 seconds.
Spicer entered the indoor season armed with the confidence that came courtesy of a bronze medal performance in the U16 high jump at the Canadian Legion
Outdoor Track & Field Championships last summer.
