Jam girls douse the Fire, but the Force is too much
2019-01-30
by Randy Pascal

Improving their overall season record to 6-2 this year, the Sudbury Jam U-12 Major Atom Girls came up just a few baskets short at the Niagara Falls Red Raiders Tournament this past weekend.

The girls opened play on Friday, dousing the Flamborough Fire 39-10, before moving on to defeat the YNBA Avengers 16-14 in a defensively-oriented cross-over encounter.

In the championship affair, the Burlington Force overcame the northern crew, 28-22, as the Jam now look forward to their next event on Family Day weekend at the HoopDome.

The 2018-2019 Sudbury Jam U-12 girls team spotlights a lineup of Sophie Prince, Violet Smith, Léa Lemieux, Sidney Skrobot, Abbygail Lavigne, Rylie Moore, Olivia Nicholls, Naomi Burrows, Makayla Tuttle, Kiersten Goudreau, Hannah Burton, Kaylee Vaillancourt, Lileigh Lavallee and coaches Wayne Lozier and Dave Nicholls.
