Peewee Shamrocks see no reason to cool off
2018-07-17
by Randy Pascal

The Sudbury Peewee Shamrocks are hot, and not just because of their ability to thrive despite the sweltering temperatures thermometers have been hitting this summer.

Coaches Scott Rienguette, Norm Madore, Shayne Troscinki and their crew have racked up back to back tournament banners to date the past two months, striking a healthy balance of some fine work on the mound by a handful of key contributors, along with some very timely hits at important stages of each event.

In May, the Shamrocks downed the North Toronto A's in the championship affair of the Buck Pringle Memorial Tournament in Orillia, following that up with another solid showing at the Muskoka Cup in June, capturing gold in Huntsville.

An outstanding effort from pitcher Nathan Gravel against the Peterborough Tigers in the 42 degree heat helped show the way for the locals. Rounding out the Sudbury roster are Keegan Laroque, Isaac Troscinski, Devan Madore, Payton Paquette, Callum Baron, Nathan Gravel, Nick Rainville, Scott Coles, Zoe Rienguette, Noah Portelance, Brandon Roney, Jet Bertrand and Ethan Morris.
