Boreal loses by a goal to eventual tournament champs
by Randy Pascal
One goal may have been all that separated the Collège Boréal Vipères men’s extramural hockey team from a legitimate shot at a coveted
championship earlier this month.
Participating in the 2017-2018 Humber North Extramural Men’s & Women’s Hockey Tournament, the Vipères dropped a hard fought battle in game one to
the eventual event champions, beaten 2-1 by the host Humber College North.
Boréal displayed their mettle in game two, stopping Durham College 6-1. Unfortunately, with a final four berth in the sixteen team competition no
longer viable, the locals found themselves quickly behind the eight ball in their final outing, losing 7-3 to Lakehead University.
The Collège Boréal roster for the tournament included Matthew Allard, Bryson McLoughlin, Chad Robert, Félix Bernard, Jason Rouleau, Jerico Drapeau,
Jesse Casonato, Justin Roy, Kaleb Legault, Kristopher Carroll, Noah Asselin, Pierre-André Leblanc, Spence Smith, Ralph Ramsey, Nicolas Roberge, Stephen
Lefaive and coaches Joel Glaude and Alex Gagnon.
