4. What
is the best part about playing sports at Laurentian University?
The
support we get from the Laurentian Athletics Faculty, as well as the
Sudbury community and our peers who watch our games.
5.
What is a typical
game-day like for you, starting when you wake up?
I
usually sleep in and lay in bed for a while when I wake up, thinking
about the game. If we are in town I eat a big breakfast by myself,
and relax before class, but if we’re out of town I go out and eat with
the rest of the team. We have a shoot around mid-day where we get
shots up and run offences, after that I take the day to just lay
around and relax, and try to go over the game play by play of how I
want it to go. Eat a pre-game meal either with the team or by myself
depending on if we are home or away, about 2 hours before tip off then
head to the gym shortly after to suit up and warm up. Then it’s game
time.
6. Are
you superstitious in regards to sports? If so, how so?
Not
superstitious.
7. What
is your favorite pre-game meal?
Pasta
chicken and salad. Lots of water and juice.
8. You
love basketball
because…
So
many reasons. Basketball is so unpredictable. At any night, a game
can go either way, a player could go off and shoot lights out, or be
totally flat and shoot all bricks. It’s a great team sport because
you can never win with just one player, everyone on the floor plays a
part. It’s Canadian invented.
9. What
is the best advice you have ever received?
‘Just
keep shooting Bryan, they’ll fall.’ Haha
10. What
advice would you give a young basketball
player?
Start
good training habits early, because the longer you keep with bad or
lazy habits, the harder they become to break. Play the game because
you love it and have fun playing it, you’ll get more out of it.
11. If
you could change one thing about basketball
it would be?
Nothing.
12.
Do you have
any other talents?
I’m as good of a Volleyball player as I am a basketball player.
13.
What do you
enjoy on off-days?
Sleeping. Spending time with friends and family.
14.
If you could
witness one moment in history, it would be?
Fire
being discovered. Or the wheel being invented.
15.
Who has influenced your sporting career the most?
Myself. I’ve had an amazing amount of support from my family, and
coaches I’ve had that have helped me as I grew as a player, and still
help me now, but the reason I have succeeded is because I was
determined to. People would tell me I couldn’t do it, and I did it
because I wanted to.
