In one fell swoop, the Sudbury Cyclones more than doubled their roster size.

Following the introduction of both Jack Collins and Michael Marcantognini at the inaugural media day last month, the local League 1 franchise announced another trio of teammates that will join the ranks.

Proof that this new entry will be anything but a Sudbury-centric squad comes in the form that the new signees hail from Manitoba (Stan Pankiewicz), the United Kingdom (Luke Harrop) and Barrie (Hayden Lloyd).

A 6'1" attacker who competed with the Winnipeg Phoenix in his youth, Pankiewicz attended Miles MacDonell Collegiate and spent time with both Bonivital United as well as WSA Winnipeg in USL League Two.

Pankiewicz spent the 2022-2023 season with Canadian Mennonite University (Winnipeg), receiving the IMPACT player award and continuing his studies at Wilfrid Laurier University this past year.

Born in Bingley (England), just outside of Leeds, Luke Arrop would enjoy stints with the academies of Leeds United and Bradford City, as well as earning a cap with the English Independent Schools Football Association.

This past fall, the 6'3" midfielder/centerback transferred from Capilano University (Vancouver) to play with the Algoma Thunderbirds of the OUA in Sault Ste Marie.

In Hayden Lloyd, the Cyclones are signing their second member of the Nipissing Lakers (Jack Collins played there), the Nursing major still having two years of eligibility with his team in North Bay.

In addition to making 23 game appearances over the past three years with the Lakers, Lloyd was named as a captain in 2023 following a summer spent with the Simcoe County Rovers FC U21 entry in the Ontario League 1 circuit.

A two-time OUA all-academic recipient, Lloyd offers some versatility on the back line with experience at the fullback, wingback or centerback positions.

With the Cyclones set to host their home opener some time next month, new additions should be forthcoming on a weekly basis - so stay tuned.
