For a young team of grade five and six basketball players, the R.L Beattie Barons quickly grasped the concept of peaking at exactly the right time.

Capturing bronze in their first tournament of the year, followed by silver in the next, the south end crew closed off the season with a pair of gold medal performances, including taking top spot in the Rainbow Board Junior Boys Basketball final.

"The team grew stronger with every game, getting a better understanding of their structure," noted head coach Andy Pellarin. "The team had many leaders guiding them to success - and the bench support was very strong and fun to experience."

The championship winning team featured Riley Heinsohn, Anthony Piotrowski, Ethan Campbell, Tommy Fitzmaurice, Rohan Saidi-Smith, Oliver Frantz, Patrick Snow, Chidube Elendu, Khalid Sambo, Edward O'Connell, Zachary Brouillette and Lachlan Kerr.
