While current Laurentian Voyageurs' teams will have the floor earlier in the day this Saturday at the Sudbury Arena, it's an L.U. blast from the past that will be greated during the half-time festivities of the Montreal Toundra vs Sudbury Five game that evening.

The team in conjunction with SWSE is paying tribute to the 1997-1998 Voyageurs men's basketball team which captured the OUA banner that year and lost in the national semi-finals to the McMaster Marauders (82-68) after beating the Waterloo Warriors (74-57) in quarter-final play in Halifax.

"I felt that it was important for me to honour that history and re-engage with them," noted first year Laurentian men's head coach Brandon Edwards. "We're excited to get them in a venue where they can be recognized."

Members of the 1997-1998 team included: Joey Turco, Leon Sutton, Patrick Brandt, Kevin Gordon, Dwayne Burton, Anthony Malcolm, Roan Biggs, Cory Bailey, Clifton Edwards, Adam Dusome, Ted Dongelmans, Colin Crokam, Blaine Henderson, head coach Peter Campbell, assistant coach Shawn Swords, trainer Shawna McNabb and team manager Jill Evershed.
