An all-Gordon final remains a possibility as play at the NOCA (Northern Ontario Curling Association) Masters Provincial Championships continue in North Bay this weekend.

With several trips to nationals already on their resume, the NCU (Northern Credit Union) Community Centre rink of Robbie Gordon, Ron Henderson, Dion Dumontelle and Doug Hong are off to a 2-0 start with wins over Jamie Graham (8-2) and Dennis Gebhart (8-5), both representing the North Bay Granite Club.

Meanwhile, the Chris Gordon, Michel Mayer, Paul Deschene, Tim Lloyd and Norm Lafleur entry, also donning the colours of the NCUCC, is sitting at 2-1 at the half-way point of their round-robin schedule.

Team C. Gordon opened with a 6-4 win over Floyd Hopson (McIntyre - Timmins), improved to 2-0 by doubling Dennis Gebhart 8-4 but were handed their first setback at the hands of the Jamie Graham quartet, falling 6-4.

Meanwhile, much further north in Long Lac, the only local entry attending the NOCA U18 Boys and Girls Championships remains hopeful of securing one of three playoff spots up for grabs in the field of ten teams contesting a triple-knockout format.

Kameron Tellier, Kelton Tellier, Samantha Digiglio, Karleigh McNaughton and Gilliane Nadon split their two game set on Wednesday, beating Skye Bergounhon (McIntyre CC) 9-4 but losing a 9-4 decision to Deanna Chilton, also from Timmins.

Bumped into the "B" draw, Team Tellier has responded with back to back victories, getting the better of both Alli Chabot (6-1 - Fort Frances) and Emma Tucker (7-4 - Fort Frances), with their next match slatted for 7:30 p.m. tonight versus Amy Stround from Kakabeka Falls.
