Megan Crocker set the pace and Alannah MacLean took it to another level.

A week after Crocker, an alumnus of the Laurentian Voyageurs cross-country team, posted a very impressive time of 1:23:26 in a half-marathon in Victoria (B.C.), the remaining troika of the CAMEL Caravan, as they have been affectionately dubbed, took their shot at the Toronto Waterfront Half-Marathon distance.

Racing to a near four minute personal best time, Alannah MacLean finished 9th in the women's division, covering the 21km course in 1:21:36 as she continues to work on her preparation for the Berlin Marathon in 2024 after competing in the storied Boston Marathon this past April.

Making her debut in the half, Emma (Tallman) Vaillancourt crossed the line in 21st place in the same division, with a more than respectable initial clocking of 1:24.35.

Less than a minute off his fastest time ever at this distance, Caleb Beland paced his way through at 1:09:55, good for 15th overall in the men's division.

All four runners enjoy ties to Sudbury, not the least of which is the fact that the entire quartet are currently coached by L.U. cross-country mentor Darren Jermyn.
