A pair of pre-season wins in the Soo give way to league play in Toronto
2023-05-14

Having thoroughly dominated Huronia District Soccer League opponents last summer, the now GSSC (Greater Sudbury Soccer Club) Impact U14 Boys are more than a little amped to make the jump to T.O. Soccer League play this year.

With that leap in competition expected to be significant, the local lads took an interim step before TOSL action begins, taking on the Soo City United crew in a pair of exhibition outings last weekend.

Sudbury racked up back to back wins by scores of 3-1 and 2-0 and now have a couple of weeks to get into tip-top shape before facing North York EFC Boca at Father Henry Carr CSS field in Toronto on May 27th.

Coach Mario Ceccon benefitted from a very well-distributed attack with Landen Lake-Rego, Frank Nzotungwanimana and Nick Alexander finding the back of the net in the opener and Joshua Reich and Dominic D'Angelo doing likewise in game two, with keeper Noah Palladino recording the clean slate.

The balance of the 2023 Impact U14 (2009) Boys roster showcases Costa Urso, Roman Mamonov, Gage Mantha, Domingo Quintana, Alex Campbell, Jared Ferguson-Whitely, Reid Faux, Wesley Forest, Zach Arsenault, Matteo Ceccon, Asher Stevenson, Connor Nicholson, assistant coach Francois Nzotungwanimana and manager Matt Alexander.
