A second big event in the month of April for the northern Ontario martial arts community would see Chief Master Ivan Bergeron and friends with Elliot Lake KMAC (Korean Martial Arts Centre) bring together 150 or so competitors for the 2023 NOMAC - Northern Ontario Martial Arts Championships.
A perennial highlight at the event, the sparring divisions were captured by Nicholas Marceau of Marceau's Martial Arts in North Bay (Black Belt Lightweight Division) and Josh Carriere of Sudbury KMAC (Black Belt Heavyweight Division).
Grand Championships were awarded to the competitors with the most points earned in the forms, weapons, self-defence and sparring divisions, across a variety of classifications, with the trophy winners emerging as follows:
