It was a clean sweep for Sudbury soccer as the Greater Sudbury Soccer Club (GSSC) teams went four for four at the HDSL (Huronia District Soccer League) Cup showdown day on Saturday in Huntsville.

The GSSC U15 Impact girls set the tone early, blanking the NDSC (Nipissing District Soccer Club) Lakers 2-0 on goals from Maia Hammel and Bryn Hobson, with Isabel Rheault recording the shutout.

Playing some of their best soccer of the season of late, the GSSC U16 Impact boys stopped the Orillia Lightning 3-1 as Chad Tullio struck for a pair of markers, with Seth Gardner adding the other.

The lads picked a good time to upend the Lightning for the first time this year after playing to a 2-2 draw and falling 3-2 in regular season play earlier this summer.

The GSSC U13 Impact boys enjoyed a nicely distributed attack, bouncing South Simcoe United 5-1 on the strength of goals from five different marksmen. Roman Mamonov, Joshua Rioux, Domingo Quintana, Landon Lake-Rego and Connor Nicholson all found the back of the net for coach Mario Ceccon and company.

Finally, the GSSC U13 Impact girls continued their magical season, posting a 4-0 whitewash over the NDSC Lakers, recording their 12th straight win in HDSL action this summer.

Ryann Chevrier, Leah Serré, Makenna Messier and Lia Gallo scored for the winners, with Anika Rheaume bumping her impressive shutout tital to seven with the clean sheet.
