The GSSC (Greater Sudbury Soccer Club) Strikers U13 Girls have been a busy crew, mixing in a little tournament action with a pair of friendlies
on the road as the team prepares to compete later this month in their hometown tournament.
The results have been extremely encouraging, with the girls earning silver medals in Bracebridge before picking up a win and a tie in exhibition play'
against the North Bay Selects.
In Bracebridge, the Strikers posted a 2-1 record in round robin play, advancing to the semi-finals, but trailing 1-0 at the half. The locals fought
back, earning a 2-1 win before finally succumbing in the championship affair with a 1-0 loss to Richmond Hill.
Sponsored by Powertel and the Day Group, the Strikers received goals from Brooklyn Chamberland, Emily Taylor, Brooklynn Howard
and Laura Ross over the course of the weekend.
Garnering some additional game experience with North Bay, the Sudbury girls received goals from Emma Dionne and Kiara Parry in earning a
