Seminoles and Dog House play to a tie 2012-06-28 by Randy Pascal
A rare tie highlighted play as action resumed in the Quentin Seeley Remax Fastball League last Thursday night in Garson, following a few nights
that were wiped out by rain.
The First Nation Seminoles and Dog House Sports Bar played to an 8-8 draw in their opener, with Alex Jason smashing a solo home-run
for the 'Noles while Tyler Willett went 2/4 at the plate for the Dog House.
The scoring parade continued in the nightcap as the league-leading North Stars got the better of the Garson Hounds by a final score of
15-10. Starter Brad Matheson gave way to Mike Greslow for the North Stars, while Todd Parsons was tagged for the loss for the Hounds,
going the distance.
Joel Belanger went two for three for the winners, with Corey Farmer drilling a pair of hits of his own in a losing cause. As well, the
league unveiled their Players of the Week from June 18th to the 21st:
Toppers Pizza Defensive Player - Bryan Welsh (Garson Hounds)
Toppers Pizza Offensive Player - John Miners (North Stars)
Pro Am Sportswear Players - Moe Coutu (Seminoles) and Corey Farmer (Hounds)
King Sportswear Play of the Week - Eric Legendre (Hounds)
Dog House Sports Bar Team Player of the Week - Angelo Anselmo (Dog House) and Dan Bidal (Hounds)
Also of interest to local fastball fans is the fact that the Brad Rienguette Shamou Shootout has been moved from the traditional late August
date to the weekend of July 20th to 22nd, accomodating the OASA Intermediate "B/C" Provincial Championship that is set for August.
